Embracing change
Welcome to the latest edition of our AgriTechNZ newsletter. We are at a notable juncture, shaped by significant changes and promising developments in the agritech sector.
Our sector has recently faced challenges due to staff reductions in government agencies following the conclusion of Agritech Industry Transformation Plans (ITP) contracts, which have impacted the availability of support and resources. However, these reductions highlight the need for innovative solutions and resilient strategies from both the remaining agency teams and ourselves. Despite these setbacks, our commitment to advancing agritech in New Zealand remains unwavering.
Amidst these changes, it is heartening to witness remarkable resilience and adaptability within our industry. Our membership continues to grow, demonstrating a robust and united community. The influx of new members brings fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and a shared determination to drive progress. This support also underscores agritech’s crucial role in shaping the future of agriculture and environmental stewardship in Aotearoa New Zealand.
An especially exciting development is the overwhelming interest in our Executive Council elections. This year, we received 15 nominations for three available seats. This level of engagement reflects our members’ deep passion and commitment to leading and shaping AgriTechNZ’s direction. The diverse expertise and leadership qualities among the nominees promise a vibrant and dynamic future for our organisation.
As we move forward, AgriTechNZ remains dedicated to supporting our members through these transitions. We are committed to fostering collaboration, innovation and growth within our sector. Our collective efforts will focus on connecting agricultural decision-makers with cutting-edge scientific advancements, data, and insights to ensure sustainable and productive outcomes.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement. Together, we will navigate these changes and seize the opportunities they present, ensuring that New Zealand remains at the forefront of global agritech innovation.
