It’s been nine months since the initial groundwork for Agritech New Zealand was first put in place.

Every month, a group of leading New Zealand agribusinesses and government agencies have been meeting to discuss some the agritech sector’s major challenges and some of the real global opportunities it has before it.

Over the past 24 hours, I have been attending a day-long planning workshop in preparation of the launch of this industry-led initiative. Today, I am meeting up with the team at NZ Tech Alliance to discuss some of the logistics around the Agritech New Zealand’s structure, its constitution and charter and its modus operandum going forward.

A new website is being built and collateral developed. The formal launch dinner at Mills Reef Winery in Tauranga on 23 May has already been sold out. Vic Crone, CEO of Callaghan Innovation, is the guest speaker. The international delegation attending the ’10 billion mouths’ conference on the same day will be joining the 120 VIPs and guests booked in for the dinner.

It’s taken nine months to get here, but we are now less than two weeks away from launch. That’s exciting!

If you want to learn more about Agritech New Zealand, our purpose and how we plan to get there, please check out the new website which will be launched on 23 May or meet us at the ’10 billion mouths’ conference at the ASB Baypark Arena in Tauranga on the same day.

If you want to attend the conference, Agritech New Zealand can offer you discounted entry. Just enter the Promotion code TW18Partner when purchasing your tickets at https://techweek.co.nz/whats-on/2018/10-billion-mouths-39/  and get 15% off the price of a general admission ticket.

The team at Agritech New Zealand look forward to meeting you on the 23rd.
