AgriTech New Zealand is delighted to announce that Sarah Adams, Head of Innovation at Gallagher Animal Management, has been named the 2024 Robin Davidson Memorial Award recipient. This distinguished honour recognises individuals in New Zealand’s agritech sector who embody the values of good citizenship, collaborative leadership, and a commitment to fostering growth and innovation in the community.

Sarah’s leadership has driven transformative advancements within Gallagher Animal Management, a cornerstone of New Zealand’s agritech legacy. Beyond her professional achievements, Sarah is renowned for her unwavering dedication to mentoring emerging leaders, championing sector-wide collaboration, and exemplifying the “pay it forward” ethos central to this award.

“Sarah represents everything this award stands for,” said Bridgit Hawkins, Chair of AgriTech New Zealand. “Her ability to unite people, nurture new talent, and innovate within the agritech industry demonstrates the values that Robin Davidson so passionately championed. It’s a privilege to see Sarah’s dedication to the sector and the impact of her leadership recognised with this honour.”

Celebrating the Legacy of Robin Davidson
The Robin Davidson Memorial Award honours the lasting impact of Robin Davidson, a trailblazer in the New Zealand agritech industry. As one of the founders of New Zealand Agritech Inc. (NZA) in the 1990s, Robin played a pivotal role in uniting agritech companies to collaborate and compete globally. Through her efforts, companies such as Gallagher, Tru-Test, and PGG Wrightson Seeds were able to work together for the collective success of the industry.

AgriTech New Zealand, established in 2018, continues to carry forward Robin’s vision, fostering collaboration and collective action to better the sector.

The Award Ceremony
Minister of Agriculture Todd McClay formally presented Sarah Adams with the Robin Davidson Memorial Award at the AgriTech New Zealand Annual Celebration in Wellington.
