Next week, at Agritech Unleashed, David Downs, the all of government agritech taskforce lead, will talk about some of the taskforce’s planned initiatives to support New Zealand’s agritech sector.
The taskforce was established in late 2018 by Minister David Parker with the support of other key Ministers including Minister Damien O’Connor.
The taskforce first met with industry back in March at a hui in Tauranga (pictured above). Agritech New Zealand had the pleasure in hosting key officials from MBIE, MPI, NZTE & Callaghan Innovation as well as several industry leaders. The main purpose of the day was to outline some of the key priorities for the sector – not from a Wellington bureaucrat perspective – but from the needs of industry stakeholders.
Agritech New Zealand has been working closely with David & the taskforce leadership ever since. Next Thursday at National Fieldays, they will share their thinking and you will have your opportunity to share yours.
The taskforce will host the final session of Agritech Unleashed, starting at 2.45pm in the Bledisloe Function Centre at Mystery Creek. If you are attending National Fieldays next Thursday 13 June, you will have the opportunity to hear David speak. Admission to the session is free, but you do need to reserve a ticket to get in. You can do that by visiting the Agritech Unleashed web page at https://agritechnz.org.nz/fieldays-2019/
There are four other sessions in the programme. You can join these also by clicking on the ticketing link above.
Agritech Unleashed has been curated by Agritech New Zealand, in association with National Fieldays, and with the generous sponsorship of the Ministry of Primary Industries.
