Today, Jacqui and I are attending the first of three one-day workshops, organised in conjunction with New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (NZTE), to help craft New Zealand’s agritech story.
The photograph above was taken at the Waikato Innovation Park in Hamilton. Tomorrow, we head to the Factory in Palmerston North & on Thursday we visit Blinc in Lincoln. It’s great to see so many of New Zealand’s leading agritech representatives taking part in these sessions.
Creating the New Zealand agritech story is a very significant initiative. Understanding and sharing our comprehensive and compelling talking points not only promotes and supports our sector at home; it helps potential offshore investors and business partners get a better understanding of our demonstrable competitive edge. It’s a message that Agritech New Zealand is constantly driving home.
Personally, I am delighted with the resource that NZTE is committing to support the initiative. It reflects the ongoing commitment by multiple New Zealand government agencies to actively engage with the country’s agritech sector. The recently launched ‘all-of -government’ agritech taskforce is designed to accelerate this engagement.
The New Zealand Agritech Story will be officially launched at National Fieldays on Thursday 13 June. Between now and then, we will be engaging with a wide group of stakeholders, in conjunction with NZTE, to ensure that the messaging and collateral produced effectively supports our story.
I would like to thank all the participants attending this week’s workshops for their time and commitment. It’s seriously appreciated.
